Novosibirsk is the capital of Siberia and the third largest city in Russia. It was founded in 1893 as the future site of the Trans-Siberian railway bridge. The city is also the largest city in Siberia and the administrative center of Siberian Federal District. The main industries in the city include machine manufacturing and metallurgy. It is also home to one of the Novosibirsk State Universities and a number of other institutes and scientific research center. It also operates many opera and ballet companies, several theaters, museums, art galleries and numerous sports facilities.
Area & Location: Located in the western part of Siberia, between Ob and Irtysh rivers, Novosibirsk borders Kazakhstan the Omsk, Tomsk, Kemerovo and Altai regions. The city lies 3,191 kilometers away from Moscow. The city covers total area of 447.2 sq. km, which is completely covered by land. Around 1,405,600 people reside in the city.

The Altai Mountains-area in southern Siberia that has deep mountain valleys, numerous rivers and forest housing 70 species of mammals and 300 species of birds provides a thrilling experience to those who drop in here.
