Bruno Aguiar


Bruno Aguiar or Bruno João Morais Aguiar is a famous Portuguese footballer, born on February 24, 1981, in Lisbon. He plays as a professional footballer in the position of central midfielder. Since 2006, he is a part of the football club Heart of Midlothian.

Biography of Bruno Aguiar

At a tender age of 9 years old, Bruno Aguiar started his football career. Soon he was registered with the youth side of Portuguese soccer giants SL Benfica. Within a short period, he found success and was promoted to the B side of SL Benfica in 1998.

The management personnel of SL Benfica decided to loan Bruno Aguiar to a number of Portuguese football teams with an aim to develop the skills of the footballer. Henceforth, from 1998 to 2004, Bruno played for a number of Portuguese football clubs namely Gil
Vicente, SC Beira-Mar, FC Alverca. In the meantime, between 2002 to 2004, Bruno represented the national Under-21 football team of Portugal.

In 2004 Bruno was called back to play for the team of SL Benfica. He stayed with this team till 2006. Within this short stay with SL Benfica, Bruno played an important role in the position of central midfielder. He helped the team clinch the Portuguese League in the 2004-05 season. His brilliant performance also contributed in the team's emergence as the runners-up in Portuguese Cup for the same season.

For the season of 2006-07, Bruno was registered with the football club FBK Kaunas. But after registering him, the club decided to loan him to the Heart of Midlothian club. This club emerged as the winner of Scottish Cup and runners-up of Scottish Premier League, courtesy the spectacular performance of Bruno. For the 2007-08 season, Bruno played no longer as a loan player but as the registered player of Heart of Midlothian club.
