Lodz is well connected by major modes of transportation. The tourists to Lodz can get into the city by flights, car, trains and buses. Getting around the city is also very convenient. Lodz Transportation is very well managed by MPK Lodz.

Reaching Lodz by flights

Lodz Airport Wladyslaw Reymont is the regional airport of the city. Flights to and from the city are operated from this airport. The airport has undergone major renovations in the past few years and has been modernized. The airlines that offer international flights to and from Lodz are RyanAir, Volareweb and Centralwings. The tourists coming from other parts of Poland can avail flights to Warsaw and then come to the city by other modes of transport.

Reaching Lodz by Train

There are two train stations in the city. Transit trains are operated from Lodz Kaliska. Rail links have been set up with countries like Germany and Czech Republic. Domestic trains can be availed from Lodz Fabryczna.

Reaching Lodz by Bus

Travelers can reach the city by bus. Excellent bus service is made available to the tourists. On the weekdays, the tourists can avail ELA bus services from Warsaw. Daily bus services are operated by Polski Express. This bus service is available from Warsaw, Torun and Gdansk.

Getting Around Lodz

The best way to get around the city is by walking. The roads of the city are very busy and there are many modes of transport in Lodz. Taxis are available in the city.

By tram

Trams are popular means of transport among the people of the city. Lodz has tram links since 1898. In Lodz, there are 1 regional, 3 suburban and 15 city tramlines. The regional tramline is from Zgierz to Pabianice. On 7th July, 2007, the latest tramline was launched in the city, which is known as Lodz Regional Tram. During the season of holidays, special tram route “0” operates in the city.

By Rickshaw

Rickshaw is a very cheap mode of transport in the city. Tourists are advised to avail rickshaws when traveling in Piotrkowska Street, which happens to be the largest street of the city.

By Trambus

Trambus is another popular mode of transportation in Lodz which has trams that move with wheels of buses. There are 7 lines of trambus in Lodz and the service is available to the people throughout the week.
