Radogoszcz Prison is one of the major places of attraction in Lodz City, Poland. The prison has been presently transformed into a museum after undergoing several repairs and renovations. Initially a factory complex, the place was taken over by the Nazis and was used as a prison from 1939-1945 (Second World War). The place was used for detention and torturing the prisoners. The Nazis captured the war prisoners and kept them in this prison, torturing them excessively. Most of the people, who were captured by the Nazis from Lodz consisted of Polish political leaders, their intelligentsia as well as men from the Polish army.
Radogoszcz Prison in Lodz had a capacity of holding only 2000 people. However, thousands of people were crammed into the prison and there was hardly any space to sit. Conditions became worse with time.Most of the prisoners were tried and executed, while

there were many who could not withstand the inhuman tortures and succumbed to the injuries and tortures.Some of the prisoners were also shipped to other lands in some other death camps.A part of the prison was also burnt down with innumerable prisoners inside.
An exhibition at the Radogoszcz Prison at Lodz also depicts the painful plight of the prisoners in the prison. There are also pictures and paintings of the prison during those times. Depictions of stories during the World War II are also exhibited in the prison. There is also a section that is exclusively dedicated to the Jewish Ghetto. This place has uniforms and belongings of the prisoners, who were captured in the prison.
