Museum of the Struggle for Independence, Lodz has a collection of exhibits that chronicles the unfortunate events of the city in the past. The dark isolation cell, huge rusty restraints stand witness to the turbulent period of Polish history. The Museum is situated on the ground floor of a prison. In fact, the Museum was a Tsarist prison initially. Visit to the Museum of the Struggle for Independence in Lodz, takes the visitors to the dark days, which the city once witnessed.

The Museum of the Struggle for Independence of Lodz elaborately exhibits the workers’ revolution in 1905. It also displays letters and rebellious leaflets of the prisoners. Lodz Museum of the Struggle for Independence has dedicated a room to display the role pf Poland in Second World War. This room exhibits grenades, gas masks, rifles, photographic displays, uniforms and medals. The room also presents the role of Poland in the Monte Cassino and The battle of Britain. There is a hall at the Museum, where photographs of the Solidarity era are displayed.
