The building reflects unique blend of German Gothic and French Revival style of architecture. The chapel was built between the years 1885 to 1888 by Jozef Dziekonski and Edward Lilpop.

The chapel faced severe damage during a series of robberies in 1945. During 1970s, the Conservatory Authority renovated the chapel, and surrounded it with a fence. Some of the divisions of the chapel are:
