Artur Brauner, a well-known film producer, was born on 1st of August, 1918 in Lodz. He was born to Moshe Brauner and Brana. After World War II, he went to Berlin. There he founded his own production company named Central Cinema Company (CCC). He married Maria Brown on 28th February, 1947.
Artur Brauner holds an honorary doctorate from the Interamerican University of Humanistic Studies of Florida. He also holds the First Class Order of the Federal Republic of Germany. He produced a film named Morituri in 1948. It was a film to pay homage to the victims of the racial hatred of Germany. He produced a number of films thereafter.
He worked with German cinema icons like Romy Schneider, Heinz Ruehmann, Hardy Krueger, OW Fischer and Hans Albers. From 1980 onwards, producer Artur Brauner produced films that concentrated more on political and social issues. Some of them were:
