Short History
The word ‘Tagaytay’ is a coinage of two words. TAGA means to cut while ITAY means Father. It is said that a father and son went to hunt for a wild boar. The furious animal attacked the father and the son cried TAGA-ITAY out of fear. The repeated cries of the boy reverberated in the valley and it became a subject of conversation among the residents of the valley. From then on the place came to be known as the Tagaytay. During the Philippine Revolution, various revolutionaries took shelter in Tagaytay. The city also played a crucial
