Quiapo Church

Quiapo Church is located in Quiapo district of Manila. It houses the Black Nazarene. Black Nazarene is a life-size wooden sculpture of Jesus Christ having dark skin. This statue of Jesus is considered to be miraculous by the people of Philippine. On every Friday, many devotees come to light a candle in this Manila Church.

About Quiapo Church
Quiapo Church is also popular by the name of Minor Basilica of the Black Nazarene. The foundation of the church was built in the year 1582. The church endured the destruction of the Second World War. It is believed that whoever touches the Black Nazarene is cleansed of all sins.

The original structure of the church was burnt in 1928. After this the church was rebuilt. It remains open from 6.00 a.m. to 8.00pm. The train station that is in proximity to the church is Carriedo.
