Philippines Cultural Center was inaugurated on 8th September, 1969 for the promotion of arts and culture in Philippines. It works under the National Commission for Culture and the Arts. This center organizes various workshops, exhibitions and seminars on film, visual arts and broadcast arts too.
Philippines Cultural Center also helps in the establishment of local cultural centers through its CCP Outreach Program that brings together talented artists from various corners. Its Cultural Exchange Program helps in the development of arts councils in Philippines. This center has ties with various international organizations such as:

- the Association of Asia-Pacific Performing Arts Centers
- the International Theatre Institute
- the Conseil International des Organisations de Festivals de Folklore et d'Arts Traditionnels
The resident theater company of the Cultural Center, Philippines is known as Tanghalang Pilipino. There are four resident dance companies, which are the Ramon Obusan Folkloric Group, Ballet Philippines, the Bayanihan Philippine National Folk Dance Company and the Philippine Ballet Theater. The resident music companies include the Music Competitions for Young Artists Foundation (NAMCYA), Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra, the Philippine Madrigal Singers and the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra.
