Manila National Museum was founded in 1901. It was established as an ethnography and natural history museum. It is located in the former Old Congress Building at P. Burgos Street (the main building). The building was designed by an American architect, Daniel Burnham in 1918.
Manila National Museum in Philippines has got two buildings. The main building has the section of arts and science exhibit whereas the former Finance building in the Agrifina Circle of Rizal Park, lying adjacent to it, has the anthropology and archaeology divisions. This former Finance building is known as the National Museum of the Filipino People.

Philippines houses the famous painting of Juan Luna known as ‘Spoliarium’. There is also works of Hidalgo in this museum. The galleries devoted to San Diego galleon is a must visit. The others objects displayed in this museum are jewelry, porcelain plates, armaments and coins.
The admission to the museum is absolutely free. It is open from Tuesday to Sunday for public visit from 9 am to 5 pm. The nearest LRT station to this museum is UN Avenue.
