Metro Manila Council

Metro Manila Council is the governing board of the Metro Manila Development Authority or MMDA. The Council makes policies on behalf of the MMDA. It is composed of voting and non - voting administrative members. The voting members are the President of Metro Manila, Vice Mayors League and the Councilors League, Mayors of all cities and municipalities in Metro Manila. The heads of DBM, HUDCC, PNP, DOTC and DPWH are non-voting members of the Metro Manila Council.

Functions of the Metro Manila Council
Being the governing and policy-making board of the Metro manila Development Authority, the Council performs certain important functions. The functions performed by the Council are:

The Metro Manila Council brings into effect the resolutions, rules and regulations,

which are termed necessary by the Metro Manila Development Authority in order to implement plans, subjects and programs
• The Council should approve the plans, subjects and programs in order to develop the Metro Manila
• The Council of the Metro Manila should approve the annual budget in order to submit to the DBM and should also fix the compensation of the personnel and officers of the MMDA
• The Council also has the right to increase the rate of allowances and per diems of the members of the council
• The Metro Manila Council regulates the day-to-day functioning of the civic services applicable in Manila
