Manila is the capital of Philippines. The location of Manila city is on the shores of Manila Bay. The geographic coordinates of Manila are 14°36'15” North latitude and 120°58'56” East longitude. The city is 26 feet above sea level.

Manila ranks second in terms of population in Philippines. Some of the cities that border Manila, Philippines are:
  • Tondo, San Nicolas, North Port District, Intramuros and Binondo in the western side
  • Sampaloc and San Miguel in the eastern side
  • Obrero borders Manila in north
  • Santa Cruz and Quiapo
The land area covered by the city is about 38.55 square kilometers. The city is protected from extreme weather conditions by the hills of the Eastern Cordillera to the east and by mountains of Bataan Peninsula. The climate of Manila is tropical. From January to April, the climate remains dry and is also accompanied by rains.

About 95% of the Manila people are Malay. Americans and Chinese also reside in the city. Pasig is the major river of the city. English is spoken by most of the residents of Manila.
