Kapampangan is the seventh largest ethnic group of Philippine. People belonging to this group reflect dominant Chinese lineage. All through the centuries there has been a steady migration of Kapampangan in Manila. Pampanga district is considered to be the homeland of this ethnic group.
Before Spanish arrival in the city, people of this ethnic group constituted major part of the population. They indulged in fishing and farming as modes of occupation. These people have played active role in the history of Philippine. Kapampangan was one of the chief ethnic groups who headed Philippine revolution against Spain.

Most of Kapampangan people are Roman Catholics. The religious festivals of this group like Curaldal, Maledo and Aguman Sanduk reflect their uniqueness. Some of the popular dishes of Kapampangan people are:
- betute tugak (stuffed frogs)
- buru (fish fermented in rice)
- adobung kamaru (mole crickets sauted in vinegar and garlic)
- calderetang asu (spicy dog stew)
- estofadong barag (spicy stewed monitor lizard)
