History of College of the Holy Spirit
The college was established in the year 1913 with the name of Holy Ghost School. In the later days, it was renamed as Holy Ghost College. The name, College of the Holy Spirit was given in 1965. The college started its journey as a small grade school in Legards Street that grew steadily over the years.
The college was shifted to its current location in Mendiola Street in 1920. In 1926, it was expanded and the department of Associate in Arts was opened. Five major academic departments were formed in 1950, which were Home Economics, Liberal Arts-Education, Commerce, Fine Arts and Science.
Holy Ghost College became a charter member of the Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities in 1957. Some curricular changes were made during the Golden Jubilee celebration in 1963. In that year some new courses were added while some were phased out.
About College of the Holy Spirit
In the late 70's, departments of high school and grade school were shifted from the campus in Mendiola to School of the Holy Spirit in Quezon City, Capitol Hills. The High School department started admitting male students from the 2005-2006.
