Binodo Church happens to be one of the oldest churches in Philippines. The church was established in the year 1596. The Catholic Chinese has the responsibility to maintain the church. Binodo Church, whose formal name is Minor Basilica of St. Lorenzo Ruiz, has suffered many damages over the long period due to natural hazards like earthquakes.
At present, the octagonal bell tower of the church building remains without any damage. Binodo Church is named after San Lorenzo Ruiz, who was popular as the first Filipino Saint.

Pambansa complex. It comprises of 218 elected members and 12 presidential appointees. The joint sessions of the Philippine Congress is held at the Batasang Pambansa plenary hall.
The construction of the Batasang Pambansa complex began in 1950s. But it took a long time to get completed due to lack of funds. The legislative branch became bicameral under the constitution of 1987. The House of Representatives continued in the Great Hall whereas the offices of the old Batasang Pambansa occupied the grounds of the complex.
