Several developments and changes took place in the institution over the years and it was in 1959 that the institute was declared as a university. The Ateneo de Manila University, Philippines is subdivided into many schools that impart quality learning and teaching facilities to the students enrolled in the university. The various schools are as follows:
- Ateneo Grade School: An integral part of the Ateneo de Manila University, this is a boys school with a total strength of about 4000 students. This school has its own set of rules and laws and is controlled and administered by the Headmaster, who is the chief executive of the school.
- Ateneo High School: The high school of the university provides world-class facilities and services to the students of the school. These facilities help in the enhancement of education and create a dynamic academic environment in the school. Hi-tech facilities are used in the high school campus.
- The Loyola Schools: The Loyola Schools in Ateneo de Manila University of Philippines offer undergraduate and degree programs to the students in various subjects related to Science and Arts disciplines. The major schools that are a part of the Loyola Schools are the School of Social Sciences, the School of Science and Engineering, the School of Humanities and the John Gokongwei School of Management.
- The Professional Schools: There are many professional schools that are operated by the Ateneo de Manila University at Philippines. The major professional schools are the Law School, the Graduate School of Business, the School of Medicine and Public Health and the School of Government.
