Toledo



Toledo is one of the cities in the province of Cebu. Initially known as Pueblo Hinulawan, Toledo was officially declared as a city in the year 1961. Toledo in Cebu is located on Tanon Strait,
which stretches across the Negros Island and San Carlos.

There are short excursions options from Cebu City to Toledo. An integral part of the Visayan Islands, Toledo can be reached via roadways from Cebu City. Located in northwestern part of Cebu, Toledo can also be accessed by cars or buses. There are not many attractions in Toledo, so the excursions to Toledo will not take more than two days.

Toledo in Cebu is popular for its copper mine, which is owned by the Atlas Consolidated Mining and Development Corporation. This copper mine is one of the largest mines in Philippines and contributes largely to the economic development of the city. The copper that is mined is transported to other places from the Port of Sangi which shares proximity to Toledo of Cebu.

Though Toledo City, Cebu is not as highly developed and urbanized as other regions and cities in Cebu, the place has a charm of its own. With developing infrastructure and modern facilities, the city is definitely going to be a major tourist destination in the coming years. Transport and communication facilities are being developed in the city so that it becomes well connected to other parts of the country.
