Founded in 1984, the Lahore University of Management Sciences has already managed to establish itself as one of the best universities of its kind in the city as well as in the country.
With an objective to strengthen industrial education in the country, the Lahore University of Management Sciences was set up in 1984. Eminent industrialists and educationists of the city joined hands to develop this outstanding institution of Lahore. The establishment of University of Management Sciences of Lahore acted as a major boost to the industrial research and intellectual training area of the city.
A History Constructed
Having received the Chart of Grant from the Pakistan Government in 1985, Lahore University of Management Sciences started its journey as a degree granting university.

Popularly known as LUMS, University of Management Sciences of Lahore set up its business school in 1986. Since then, the university has added many more departments and programs including BA-LLB, School of Humanities and Social Science and its renowned MBA program.
The Schools and Courses
Covering a large number of subjects and various courses, LUMS runs three schools of education. These are:
- Suleman Dawood School of Business (SDSB)
- School of Science and Engineering (SSE)
- School of Humanities and Social Sciences (SHSS)
These schools offer various degree programs like B Sc, BA, LLB, MBA, M Sc and PhD. It also offers master degree in different subjects like economics, computer science, mathematics and computer engineering.
