Lahore Radio


The Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation is the governing body of the Lahore radio. Radio is a popular source of information and entertainment in Lahore. In order to execute its programs the PBC (Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation) has set up the News and Current Affairs Channel (NCAC) in Islamabad.

Run by a network of eleven stations administered by the PBC, the NCAC is the only digitized unit after FM101 that provides the listeners a range of programs including, news, current affairs, stock market reports, business updates, sports and analytical commentaries and discussions. The NCAC programs are broadcasted in Lahore in the evening at 1080 KHz.
Apart from the NCAC there are several other radio channels broadcasting programs across Lahore. The listeners can catch up the Lahore radio at 630 KHz and 1080 KHz. FM radio is also a popular channel amongst the masses. FM was first transmitted in October 1998 by the Pakistan Radio across Lahore, Islamabad and Karachi. It was called FM 101.

The Lahore radio run in collaboration with the PBC and NCAC relays programs in Urdu, English and various regional languages. Transmitting to the listeners a host of musical programs, features and drama, programs for children and the youth and various other awareness programs, Lahore Radio connects to the lives of a billion in both rural and urban areas of Pakistan and the world.
