Lahore pigeon is a shy columbiform bird known for its timid and gentle nature and impressive size. The pigeon is a colorful bird, generally found in the Iran region. Earlier these birds were seen in ancient Persia and were reared for meat but were later used as show pieces due to their beautiful colorful feathers.
The Pigeon of Lahore is a large bird, 10.5 inches tall, 5.5 inches broad and 11.5 inches long. The base color of the bird which can be seen on the rump and tail is white and the secondary color that spreads from the beak and the wattle, forming an arc, towards the eyes, back and wings is of distinct color shades. include Black, Brown, Red, Blue-bar and Checkered. The size of the head, neck and

wings are the main features prominently noticed during pigeon shows.
The other features of the Lahore Pigeon that are noticed and mark the quality of the bird are its head neck and wings. A pigeon with a plumy neck, plump cheeks, full broad chest and a broad and stout beak, feathered feet and legs is considered to be the best pigeon.
Lahore has several clubs that breed these delicate lives and host a number of shows where these beautiful birds with in distinct colors are displayed and sold.
