Lahore Museum is one of the most important public buildings in the city. It is considered as one of the main museums in the southern part of Asia. This museum in Lahore was established back in the year 1894. Duke of Clarence, who was eldest son of Edward VII, laid the foundation stone of the Lahore Museum. The museum at Lahore is also known as Central Museum.

It is situated in the Mall, opposite the old University Hall in Lahore. The architecture of the museum building is done in elegant Mughal-style.

paintings that date back to the eras of the Mughals, the Sikhs and the British. There are some fine samples of Sikh and Mughal wood-work and door-ways inside the museum. There is also a rich collection of jewelry, musical instruments, pottery, armory and textiles.
Apart from the specimens that belong to the Mughals, the museum in Lahore also showcases some Nepalese and Tibetan work ruins belonging to the Graeco-Bactrians. Greco-Buddhist sculptures are also exhibited in the museum.
