Lahore administration is entrusted with the powers and authority to deal with the subjects related to planning and development of the city. Within the City District lies the Town Municipal Administration or the TMA, which consists of municipal officer, local council service officer, town officers, town municipal officer and the town Nazim.
The administrative department of Lahore is responsible for the municipal services, sanitation, management of waste, building and construction, fire fighting, traffic engineering, building amusement parks and spatial planning. Due to the presence of the City District administration, the various government organizations automatically come under the supervision of the bigger institution.
