If it's Jazz, then it's the North Sea Jazz Festival. Previously held in The Hague, the event is hosted in Rotterdam since 2006. It presents almost all the genres of jazz along with other forms of music like blues,
soul music, world beat, hip-hop and much more.

Introduction
North Sea Jazz Festival, a popular music event of Rotterdam, is the biggest jazz festival in the world. Attracting about 100,000 visitors every year, this annual Rotterdam event is held at Ahoy Hall. It takes place over three days and features about 220 programs.

Previously, the festival used to be held on the banks of North Sea at The Hague and in 1990 and in 1992, it was declared "The World's Best Jazz Festival" by JazzTimes magazine. It is from 2006 that the North Sea Jazz Festival is being hosted at Ahoy in Rotterdam.

Its Time For Jazz
A truly spectacular event, the North Sea Jazz Festival presents almost all the genres of jazz music. At North Sea Jazz Festival, visitors can enjoy swinging to New Orleans jazz, free jazz, fusion jazz, electronic jazz, avant garde jazz and bop. Not only jazz, the festival also offers various other genres of music including Soul music, Blues, Funk, Hip-Hop, Latin, R&B, Gospel, World Beat, Grove and much more.


Many famous singers, musicians and music bands have performed at the North Sea Jazz Festival. The music bands and artists at North Sea Jazz Festival, 2007 includes a long list of names such as Paul Anka, Ron Carter, Larry Carlton, Lee Konitz, Al Green, Amos Lee, Dave Holland, Elvis Costello, Joshua Redman, Snoopy Dogg, Sly & The Family Stone, Mike Stern, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Stan Tracy, The Roots, E.S.T, Joe Lovano, The Soul Seekers and many more.

Event Highlights
Among the highlights of North Sea Jazz Festival are not only music shows but also exhibitions, workshops and award functions. The exhibitions present photographs, drawings and paintings related to jazz. The prestigious award 'Paul Acket Award' is presented to various artists and bands at the North Sea Jazz Festival.

Holding performances of about 1,500 musicians, North Sea Jazz Festival has been held 32 times. The 2008 festival will be the 33rd edition of the North Sea Jazz Festival. Tickets for the festival include day tickets, 3-daytickets, All-in tickets and Supplementary tickets. In 2007, the tickets were available from May 10th and the festival dates were from 13th July to 15th July.

With an increase in the number of visitors from 9000 to about 100,000, the North Sea Jazz Festival is one of the most popular jazz festivals of the world and a significant musical event of Netherlands.
