Municipality of Rotterdam is an important administrative division in Netherlands.
The municipality of Rotterdam, as of in the year 1999, had a total expanse of 304.22 square kilometer. One third of the total surface area is covered with water. It was estimated to have a population of 604,819 according to the census of the same year. According to a survey conducted in the year 2005, the greater Rotterdam area was reported to have a population of 1.2 million approximately. The Rotterdam municipality is considered to be the 2nd Great City of Netherlands.
