  • Easter Monday: On this official holiday, most of
    the shopping zones and banks remain closed
  • Queen’s Day (29th or 30th April): On this day, the birthday of Queen is observed.
  • National Liberation Day (5th May): On this day, the ending of the Second World War is celebrated by the natives
Apart from those, the list of Amsterdam official public holidays includes the following:
  • 1 June: Ascension Day
  • 11–12 June: Whitsuntide
  • Religious Holiday
  • 25–26 December: In Amsterdam these two days are celebrated as Christmas days and are defined as official holidays
In addition to the above-mentioned holidays, 5th December (Santa Day or Sinterklaas) and New Year's Eve on 31st December are widely celebrated across the city. Although these days are not official public holidays yet most of the shops and offices remains closed on these days.
