Tracing History
With a capacity to hold 200 believers, the Our Lord in the Attic served as a secret church during the era of a religious turmoil. Even after the death of the Roman catholic owner of the house, the Church services continued to take place till the year 1888. Later, the house was handed over to the Amstelkring Foundation, who converted it into a museum. The museum now holds artifacts and antiques that remind one of the earlier phase of the Reformation era in Holland.
Some of the other collectibles that can be found in the Our Lord in the Attic museum include the original altar and the organs of the church, engravings, pictures dating back to the 17th century, and many more.
