Paul Jozef Crutzen: This well-known Dutch Noble Prize winner scientist was born on 3 December 1933 at Amsterdam and has worked on atmospheric chemistry. His primary focus was on 'ozone depletion'. Being the former assistant professor at Georgia Tech, presently Crutzen is involved with several universities and research institutes like:

• Scripps Institution of Oceanography, University of California
• Max Planck Institute for Chemistry, Germany

Rembrandt Van Rijn: The mesmerizing paintings of this painter from Amsterdam have captivated the viewers with their amazing combination of light and shade. The remarkable collection of this creative painter includes more than 600 paintings and around 2300 engraving and drawings. Rembrandt also had an unmatched flair for portrait making.
