Kathmandu Post is an English daily published by Kantipur Publications Private Limited. This all color, English Kathmandu newspaper has a circulation of 40,000 copies. Kantipur Publications is the first media house in Nepal to become a member of World Association of Newspapers (WAN).
Kathmandu Post was launched in 1993 in the month of February. Presently, this Kathmandu newspaper, which is printed across three satellite printing locations, uses the latest digital printing techniques. In June 2001, the Chief Editor, Director,and Managing Director were arrested for carrying a controversial article, but were subsequently released free of all charges.

This helped Kathmandu Post and Kantipur become the most popular English and Nepali dailies respectively in Kathmandu. Both these dailies advocate the existence of free press in Nepal.
Kantipur Publication has launched eKantipur.com Internet news magazine, and Kantipur 96.1 FM radio channel. It is also diversified into television channel business.
Kathmandu Post is headed by their Chairman Mr. Hemraj Gywali and operates from Kathmandu, and Biratnagar in Nepal.
