The Israel Embassy in Kathmandu, Nepal is maintained with the objective of mutual benefit of both the nations, based on administrative understanding. The office of the Israeli Ambassador in Nepal is located in Lajmipath, Kathmandu. The present Israeli Ambassador to Nepal is H.E. Mr. Dan Stav. He has been serving in Nepal since September 2005. He succeeded H.E. Mr. Dan Ben-Eliezer, who served from 2003 to 2005.

Duties of Israel Embassy in Kathmandu, Nepal

The Embassy of Israel is multi-functional. It has mainly two departments, the consular department and the economic or commercial affairs department. The embassy helps residents of Nepal in getting visas to Israel. Also, a citizen of Israel who is traveling in Nepal can approach the embassy in case of emergency situations. It is the duty of the ambassador of Israel to help out Israeli people in Nepal.

Israel Embassy in Kathmandu was established in the year 1961 and the diplomatic relations were founded a year before in 1960. Following the establishment, the Prime Minister and King of Nepal paid visit to Israel in the years, 1961 and 1963 respectively. The Israeli President, Mr. Zalman Shazar too paid a visit in the year 1966.
