Kathmandu Airport is the only international airport in Nepal. It is not only international flight, which depart from this airport but also a number of domestic flights operate from here. The official name of the Kathmandu Airport is Kathmandu Tribhuvan Airport. The government of Nepal maintains this civilian airport.

The flights provide for air route connectivity to many other countries of the world, including all major European, Asian and certain North American cities. The airport avails a number of facilities, such as, car rental service, waiting rooms, snack shops and the likes.

The domestic and the international terminals are separate. The airport has stringent rules regarding importing and exporting goods. Passengers are not allowed to carry them certain goods of all types.
