Nepal or the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal is a small country located in the Himalayan region of South Asia. It is bounded by India and People's Republic of China. The father of Buddhism, Gautama Buddha (Prince Siddhartha Gautama) was born here. It is a mountainous region. Only its southern region shares areas of Gangetic plain. Agriculture, tourism, service and small craft based industries provide main employments to Nepali people.

Cities of Nepal

Nepal is a poor country with few major urban locations. Some of the top cities of Nepal include:
  • Kathmandu: Kathmandu is the main city and the capital of the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal. It has several Hindu and Buddhist monuments. Among them The old palace of the Newar kings, Pashupatinath temple and Boudhanath are some notable examples. It is a famous tourist hub. It has an international airport.
  • Pokhara: Pokhara is a paradise both for trekkers and religious tourists. Bindhyabasini temple, Bhimsen temple, Barahi temple, and Phewa lake are major attractions of this city.
  • Biratnagar: Biratnagar is an important commercial center of Nepal. It produces jute, sugar, and cotton. With America's assistance, a fish breeding facility has been opened in Biratnagr. Its fertile land has made it a major agricultural hub.
