Sheila Majid the popular pop singer of Malaysia, was born on the 3rd of January 1965, in the city of Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia. Her birth name is Shaheila binti Abdul Majid and she is the youngest amongst her eight siblings.
Early Life of Sheila Majid
Sheila Majid pursued her early education from Goodshepherd Kindergarten, her primary education from the Methodist Girls Primary School and her secondary education from the Methodist Girls Secondary School. Ever since her childhood Sheila Majid had a great inclination towards music. At the age of four Sheila Majid began to learn music. Her musical talent was first noticed by a music director at one of her friend’s party, when she was just 17 years of age.
Career of Sheila Majid
Sheila Majid took the first step towards her musical career in the year 1982. It was the year when she signed her first music contract with Roslan Aziz. Her first album titled Dimensi Baru, was released in 1985, which earned a lot of acclaim. Her second Album Emosi, was

received the BASF Award for Best Female R&B Artist. Thereafter came in a number of other popular music albums from this famous Malaysian star, which include Warna, Legenda, Ratu (made in collaboration with several international musicians) and Ku Mohon.
For her work on music, Sheila Majid received a number of awards and a lot of national and international acclaim. In the year 1990, she was awarded a federal honour, the Ahli Mangku Negara (AMN), by His Majesty Yang DiPertuan Agong IX. In the year 2000, Sheila Majid received four awards for the Best Pop Album at the Anugerah Industri Muzik (AIM).
Sheila Majid was married to Roslan Aziz and became the proud mother of two children Wan Nur Khaleda and Megat Abdul Majid but then divorced him. Later, on 3rd June 2003 Sheila Majid married Hashim Abdullah, popularly known as Acis. With him she has two kids, Khadeja Zaireen Murshim and Khalifa Laila Murshim. Later in the year 2004, Sheila Majid with her husband Acis established a rehearsal studio called the Studio Akarkarya in Damansara Uptown.
Presently this popular singer of Malaysia lives at Damansara Heights in Kuala Lumpur with her mother Saadiah binti Adam.
