Menara, Kuala Lumpur, was constructed between 1992 and 1995. This enormous structure at Kuala Lumpur was designed by Kumpulan Senireka Sdn. Bhd. This 421 meters tall structure is also known as the KL Tower and is rated amongst the tallest buildings of the world. Occupying a ground area of 80,417.5 square meters, the tower features a revolving restaurant, an observatory, a banquet deck, a telecommunication Center, a broadcasting station, a building service floor and an area for emergencies.
Amenities at the KL Tower, Kuala Lumpur
The KL Tower is one of the magnificent landmarks of Kuala Lumpur. The tower is also one of the biggest business centers of the city providing a wide array of facilities to the people. These include:
Car Park: There is a huge enclosed parking area at the Menara that can accommodate up to 180 cars and 5 buses at a time. There are different tariff rates applied for different vehicles. An open parking space is also available at the entrance of the building, which can accommodate 140 cars at a time. The tariff for parking is charged on an hourly basis.
Prayer Room or Surau: The KL Tower also houses 3 prayer rooms on its upper ground floor. One is meant for the male population and two for the female population. A banquet hall is also available here for all.
Toilets: On the upper ground floor of the Tower are the public toilets. There are 2 toilets for the handicapped and one each for both male and female. A baby room is also made available at the Menara. All the floors and entertainment venues at Menara maintain public toilets.
ATM Outlet: An ATM counter of the Alliance bank is also mounted on the upper ground floor of the tower.
Lifts and Escalators: Lifts and escalators connect the different floors of the building. Escalators are available only on the ground floor.

Telephone Booths: Public Phone booths are placed at regular intervals on different floors of the KL Tower.
Wheel Chairs: Facility of wheel chairs, for handicapped and old people, is also available on the ground floor.
Taxi: Taxi facility is also available at the ground floor of the KL tower. A taxi counter is available here from where taxis could be availed to any part of the city.
Entertainment Centers at Menara, Kuala Lumpur
Banquet Area: There are four banquet areas within the KL Tower. These are known as the Mega View banquets. These banquet halls are ideal places to host meetings, seminars, product launch parties, conferences, wedding receptions, informal meetings, private dinners and corporate meals and cocktail parties.
Revolving Restaurant: The revolving restaurant housed at the Menara is one of the biggest attractions of the KL Tower. The restaurant can accommodate 90 people at a time. An eclectic range of food from all over the world, prepared under the sheer guidance of trained chefs, is available at the restaurant.
Terrace: Located on 13,590 square meter of area, the terrace is one of the finest hangouts on the tower. The Tower Terrace is an ideal venue for poolside wedding receptions, cocktail parties, buffets, concerts, BBQ and fashion shows.
Auditorium: An amphitheater is built on an area of 942 square meters within the tower. It can accommodate 250 people at a time. The auditorium is stylized conventionally with state-of-the-art hi-tech audio system, theater style seating and an inbuilt stage. It is a great venue for product launches, stage performances, concerts and mini exhibitions. A mini theater is also sited within the building. It is built on a ground area of 180 square meters, with the capacity of accommodating 50 people at a time.
Menara in Kuala Lumpur also offers an array shopping arcades. A number of events are held at the Tower for public entertainment. The skyline view of the Kuala Lumpur city from different points of the tower fascinates the visitors, making it one of the popular attractions of Kuala Lumpur.
