The Kuala Lumpur Bird Park, an aviary with 200 species of free-flying and flightless birds, welcomes a number of birdwatchers and ornithologists from different parts of the world.
The Kuala Lumpur Bird Park was established in the year 1991. Located on a vast land area of 20 hectares at the famous Lake Garden area of the city, the bird park was inaugurated by the Queen of Malaysia. It is said to be the "Worlds Largest Covered Bird Park" or "The World's largest Free Flight Aviary".
The Bird Park of Kuala Lumpur is home to 200 species of birds. The park houses almost 3000 birds, including both the flying and flight less birds. The bird park has been divided into different zones to prevent the bigger birds from chasing or harming the smaller ones. To watch the different species of birds the visitors have to pass through various gates within which different bird species have been kept. There are many bird feeding stations placed intermittently across the park. The visitors can enjoy feeding the birds from theses feeding stations.
The lush green aviary with crisscross well paved paths enables the visitors to watch the birds more closely chirping and twittering as if in their real habitat. Apart from this, the visitors can get a glimpse of the Flamingos and Storks as they boat in the artificial lake of the Lake Garden.
