Beirut art, culture & entertainment gives an insight into the cultural and social life of the capital city of Lebanon. Beirut culture is a melting pot of several cultural influences. Beirut is famous for its traditional art of boat building. Food is an integral part of Beirut culture. The main dishes are usually cooked rice, meat, vegetables, pulses, etc. Cucumber, tomato, cheese, nuts, sesame are common ingredients used in Beirut food. Onion, garlic and mint are used to add flavor. The use of eastern spices makes Beirut food exceptionally tasty. The garnishing of food items is very important in Beirut.
Beirut Religion:
Religion has played a significant role in Beirut culture since times immemorial. Christianity and Islam are the two major religions of Beirut. The Sunnis and Shiites form the major Muslim population of the city and Maronites form the major Christian population of Beirut. Other than these two religions, Judaism had made significant contributions towards the cultural and political development of the city.
