The ground work for the Al Bustan Festival was laid in the year 1994 with the vision of creating history in the tradition of Lebanese music. A rendezvous of the traditional and the modern, the Al Bustan Festival is the meeting ground for numerous artists of national and International fame.

Apart from extraordinary performances by International figures like Olaf Baer, Angelika Kirschlager, Maria Ewing, Elena Prokina, the Labeque sisters and many more, one can also enjoy the musical extravaganza on stage by orchestra groups like the Montpellier Philharmonic, the Medici, Skampa,Chilingirian, Belcea, Takacs and many more.

Some of the popular opera groups performing in the Al Bustan Festival include the Warsaw Chamber Opera and the the Helikon Opera of Moscow. Vienna Boys Choir and the Choir of Christ Church Cathedral constitute the choir groups that have often created raves among the people in Lebanon.
The workshops and the master classes with some of the most renowned musical maestros form an important feature of the Al Bustan Festival. These workshops are held in numerous venues across the country, but the most important of them is the National Conservatoire in Beirut. A Visual art exhibition is also organized during this festive season that underlines the cultural alignment of Lebanon.
