rulers. The monument has been placed on the very spot where this declaration was made. This monument, which is 24 meters in height, provides support to a pair of hands clasped together and also to the dove, which is a messenger of peace. All this is set on top of a statue comprising a group of patriots holding a flag in their hand. The monument stands between a beautifully fountain with lush greenery all around.
Activities at the Uhuru Park
In the year 2003, arms were destroyed by the public at this park. This event took place on the occasion of 3rd anniversary of Small Arms and Light Weapons Declaration in Nairobi.
