The giraffe center occupies a land of 120 acres. The center was established in the year 1975. Leslie-Melville family played a vital role in the foundation of this park. In this park, people are also allowed to feed the giraffes.

The Giraffe Center is a non-profit making association that offers environmental education free of cost. This park is basically covered by the dry upland forest. Here a wide variety of birds can also be seen. All through the year these birds stay here and attracts the travelers.
Apart from giraffes and birds, this park also has several other animal species, such as, turtles, warthogs and rabbits.
Some of the common trees that are found in this area include Olea africana, Croton megalocarpus, Ficus Thonningii and Albizzia gummefera. The Nairobi Giraffe Center extends up to Ngong View Point.
