Ueno Park is a lovely public park near the Ueno Station. This nature park was publicly opened in the year 1873. It covers an area of approximately 533,981 square meters. At the southern entranceway, the visitors will come across a Saigo Takamori's statue. During the Meiji Restoration period of 1888, this great personality played an important role.

In Ueno Park, Japan, there is also a big Shinobazu Pond. In the middle of this water body, goddess Benten's temple is seen to be standing. Apart from this, Toshogu Shrine is also there to draw your attention. This shrine was built in order to show homage to Tokugawa Ieyasu. Tokugawa Ieyasu was the founder member of the Edo shogunate. However, to enter the area of the inner shrine, 200 Yen is charged as an admission fee. This park daily remains open for 24-hours.
