Travel in Tokyo

Railways in Tokyo

Travel in Tokyo by Bus

Buses provide for both short distance and long distance travel in Tokyo. The numbers on the bus is significant as the same decides the bus route. For the convenience of the non-Japanese speaking people, announcement regarding the buses are made in English as well. In case of detailed information on bus routes, passengers may seek help from the local transportation office. Traveling by bus is the cheapest mode of transport in Tokyo. The long distance buses, commuting between Tokyo and other cities usually start off at night so that the destination is reached by dawn or morning.

When a tourist drives in Tokyo, he ought to carry with him a valid driving license and an international driving permit. The car rental companies like Nippon Rent-A-car, Budget and Toyota Rent-A-Lease generally provide chauffeurs. According to the road rules in Japan, drivers have to drive on the left side of the road
