Sushi in Tokyo


Sushi in Tokyo is one of the very popular local dishes of Tokyo. The method and ingredients for preparing Sushi have changed over the years in Japan. Initially it was a simple way of pickling. For this preparation, rice and fish were packed together and it was allowed to ferment.

There are a number of varieties of Sushi prepared in Tokyo, Japan. They are

Sushi is a delicious cuisine of the Japanese. Its preparation can be traced back to the 7th century.Previously it took a long time of about two months and sometimes near about a year to prepare
Sushi. Later during 15th and 16th century, the time given for fermentation was lessened.

In the 17th century, Sushi was served with vinegar. The tartness of the dish further enhanced with the use of vinegar. This new ingredient also helped to prepare it in a much less time. Later in the 19th century, more alteration was brought in the method of preparing Sushi in Tokyo.

In Sushi, slices of raw fish were added with vinegar and rice. This recipe was introduced by Hanaya Yohei in Edo. He also introduced preparation of snacks that could be made very quickly and served fresh.

Tourists in Tokyo should try out the mouthwatering taste of this Tokyo food. Its popularity has grown over the years. Years of culinary experience and skill are required to prepare Sushi.
