Rainbow Bridge, Tokyo




Rainbow Bridge is a hanging bridge erected over the Port of Tokyo. It is situated in the norther corner of Tokyo Bay and connects the waterfront development area of Tokyo with the Shibaura Wharf.
No toll is charged to use this Tokyo bridge. The towers supporting this bridge are white in color. The entire bridge is lighted up by a number of color lamps such as, white, red and green.

Trains, cars and even pedestrians can move through this bridge. The Rainbow Bridge is around 918 meter in length. The bridge comprises 2 stages namely upper stage and lower stage. Express way mainly uses the upper stage, whereas the lower stage is used by the pedestrians and Yurikamome (seaside express train).

This bridge of Tokyo extends from Minato-ku to Tokyo's dining area, Odaiba. The bridge was opened in the year 1993 for public use. Availing a Yurikamome monorail is indeed the best way to view this stunning bridge. One can also take a boat trip to roam around this place.

Usually from April to October, the opening hours of the bridge extends from 9.00 a.m to 9.00 p.m and from November to March, 10.00a.m to 6.00p.m. This 2-storeyed bridge was designed mainly for safe passage of ships.
