Tokyo Infrastructure




Tokyo infrastructure is well developed and well maintained by the government of Tokyo. The infrastructure of the city aids in the development of economy.

Certain roadways have been developed. Projects have been undertaken to develop the Outer Loop route and the Central Loop route. Regional roads in Tokyo have been developed to further facilitate communication in the city. The waterfront area will be linked with the central part of the city.

To enhance tourism in the city of Tokyo, the Municipal Government of Tokyo has decided that it will preserve the tourist spots in the city. The gardens and parks should be maintained well for the beautification of the city. The government is keen to keep the cityscape of Tokyo attractive as this will boost the tourism industry of the country of Japan.

The transportation of Tokyo is also well developed. It helps to maintain a sound communication within the city. Local people of the city use buses, subways and streetcars to commute within the city. The transportation system of Tokyo helps to maintain communication with other parts of the country as well.

The Tokyo Wan Aqua Line is a five-kilometer long bridge that immensely helps in communication in Tokyo. Ten kilometer of Trans-Tokyo Bay Highway extends under water surface. This highway links up Tokyo area with the southern region of the bay.

The sewerage system in Tokyo is maintained to provide a healthy and clean environment to the residents in the city. The developed sewerage system was introduced in Tokyo in 1884. The government has also taken up projects for wastewater and rainwater management.

Tokyo infrastructure also includes the waterworks of the city. The water supply services started in 1898 in the city of Tokyo. Measures have been taken so that the residents of the municipality receive ample supply of water.
