Tokyo Dome established on 17th March 1988, is one of the best stadiums in Japan. This stadium features an air-supported dome, which is the first of its kind in Japan. Big events are organized in this stadium all year through. Located on 3, Koraku in Tokyo, the stadium covers a total area of 112, 456 meters square. The building comprises 6 elevate floors and 2 basements and can accommodated around 55,000 people.
The dome is filled with air from a pressure fan, which enable to hold the outer membrane. Inside the dome, the air pressure is 3% higher than outside. At all the entrance and exits of the building revolving doors have been used so that air does not leak out from the dome.
At the Tokyo Dome stadium, sports like baseball, heavy weight championships as well as concerts and exhibitions are held on a regular basis. This stadium, being a franchise of the Yomiuri Giants, hosts more than 60 baseball games including the Japanese American baseball event, all round the year. Some of the top artists who have performed in the concerts held at Tokyo Dome are Michael Jackson, Backstreet Boys, Madonna and so on. The International Great Quilt Festival and Tableware Festival are the top events organized in this stadium.
The Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum, inaugurated in 1959, was originally located near the Korakuen

stadium. In 1988, the museum was shifted inside the Tokyo Dome. This museum displays a good collection of baseball journals and baseball materials to spread the game in Japan. From March to September the museum opens between 10 am to 6 pm and from October to February it remains open from 10 am to 5pm.
Tokyo dome is situated in a large entertainment compound known by the name of Tokyo Dome City. There are a number of hotels near Tokyo dome for the convenience of the tourists. The travelers can enjoy different types of Japanese and American cuisines in the nearby restaurants. Hanamichi and Baseball Cafe are popular food joints located in the vicinity. Besides, there are other refreshment options for the visitors like amusements parks, shops and spa in the locality.
To reach Tokyo Dome, the tourists can travel by bus, train or car. The nearest stations to the stadium are:

From Haneda Airport time taken to reach Tokyo Dome is around 40 minutes and from Narita International Airport it takes 70 minutes approximately. From the airport the tourists can travel to the Tokyo dome by the Limousine us that leave at frequent intervals.
