Airports in Tokyo




Narita International Airport and Tokyo International Airport are the two major Tokyo airports. Tokyo International Airport is also known as the Haneda Airport whereas the Narita Airport is often referred as the New Tokyo International Airport.

Other than Narita International Airport and Haneda Airport, there are five other airports in Tokyo. These airports can be accessed from the city of Tokyo. The airports are

The Haneda Airport, one of the important Tokyo airports, came to be used for mainly domestic flights after the New Tokyo International Airport was set up. The airport in Tokyo was established in 1931. This airport has three terminals. Two of the terminals are used for domestic airplanes. International flights also fly from one of the terminals of Haneda Airport.

Star Flyer, Asiana Airlines, Hokkaido International Airlines and Japan Airlines are some of the airlines that operate their flights from Tokyo International airport. From Narita Airport, one can avail planes operated by airlines of China Airlines, Korean Air, Air Canada and Lufthansa.

The Narita Airport has two terminals from which international airplanes fly to other countries. Japanese airlines flight operate from Terminal 2 of this international airport. It is one of the busiest airports in Japan. The distance of Narita Airport from Tokyo city is about 66 kilometer. Tourists can avail Limousine buses and Keikyu Rail to travel from Narita Airport to Hameda Airport.

Narita International Airport was set up to operate the international flights to and from Tokyo. Among the international airports in Japan, Narita Airport is the largest one. It is one of the busiest airports located near Tokyo city. The airport helps to maintain a sound communication between America and Asia.

Narita International Airport (NRT) has been set up about 66 kilometer from the city of Tokyo. Passengers from Tokyo, the capital city of Japan can reach Narita International Airport by accessing trains and buses. Access can also be made to the Haneda Airport, which is located near Narita International Airport. The Narita International Airport (NRT) came to be known as the New Tokyo International Airport.

Narita International Airport comprises two air terminals. Terminal 1 is used for the international flights flying to other countries. The second air terminal of Narita International Airport is used for flights of Japanese airlines. Sometimes international flights also operate from this terminal. Passengers can travel from Terminal 1 to the other terminal in shuttle buses which are provided by the airport authority.

Malaysian Airlines has flights to Kuala Lumpur, Nagoya and Fukuoka.
