Chiba has several other prefectures and also oceans surrounding it. In Chiba' s eastern side there is the Pacific ocean. Western part of Chiba is surrounded by Tokyo and Saitama prefecture . Ibaraki prefecture is in the northern side of Chiba and Tokyo Bay surrounds the southern part of the Chiba prefecture. Most of Chiba 's land areas are hilly. Yet Chiba has a famous rice yielding region known as the Boso Peninsula. The six districts that Chiba has, are, Awa, Inba, Katori, Chosei, Isumi and Kujukuri.
Apart from the several towns and villages that these districts have, there are thirty six cities in Chiba prefecture. Chiba city among these is the capital of Chiba prefecture.
Chiba is one of the Japan's most important industrial areas. The main industries in Chiba that have considerable influence on its economy, are, the steel industry,the chemical industry, the machine manufacturing industries and the petrochemical industry . Moreover, agriculture is another main pillar of Chiba 's economy. Along with industrial development Chiba provides its people strong educational guidance. In addition there a number of famous football, baseball and rugby teams in Chiba.
Chiba has the distinction of being the setting of several Japanese television serials as well the locale for popular Japanese animation series and Manga comics, that has earned it a particular fame. Chiba is also very near to Tokyo and in its western part there is the famous Tokyo Disneyland Resort which draws many travelers and visitors in this prefecture.
