The Dublin St. Patrick's Festival was such a successful event in 2007, that it bagged the Dublin Tourism Enterprise Award 2007. The tourism department of Dublin takes many measures to make this festival a success. Many special transportation arrangements are offered for the tourists by the City Council. The hotels and restaurants of Dublin are decorated specially to accommodate the travelers during the time of the St. Patrick's Festival.

Events of the festival
For five days of the festival, nearly 4000 performers show their excellence of art. Few of the cultural items to be celebrated in this festival include family carnivals, a treasure hunt, dance, comedy, music, night spectacles, street performances, street theater. On the final day of the festival, the St. Patrick's Day Parade is organized in the center of Dublin. The parade starts from the Metro Center and the attendants walk for a 5 kilometer stretch. The participants in this parade put on many bright colored clothes. Many of the attendants even walk in the parade with the masks on. The age groups of the participants vary from 2 years to 90 years.
Mouth watering food is also consumed on these festive days. The school students guided by their teachers take part in the St. Patrick's Day Parade in big numbers. This colorful festival is attended with the full enthusiasm by thousands of Dubliners and foreigners every year.
