National Gallery of Ireland is among the premier art galleries in Ireland. It houses Irish and European art collections that dates back to the period between 14th to the 20th centuries. The admission to this museum is free.
Visiting Hours of National Gallery of Ireland
The National Gallery of Ireland is open from 9.30am to 5.30pm between Monday to Saturday while on
Thursdays from 9.30am to 8.30pm. The museum is closed on Good Friday and from 24th December to 26th December. The exhibition galleries of the museum are closed 15 minutes before closing time. On Sundays, the museum is open from 12.00 pm to 5.30 pm. Guided tours for visually and hearing impaired visitors are offered by the Gallery, which may be booked three weeks in advance.

Milltown's Gift from Russborough House which includes many Irish furniture, fans and silver pieces made during the 18th century.
The collection of National Gallery of Ireland includes nearly 50 portraits of famous men and women of Ireland who are popular in political, social and cultural spheres. The sculpture collection of National Gallery is scattered all throughout the painting galleries. Most of these sculptures mainly belong to the 17th to 19th centuries. Most of the sculptures are of famous Irish people. Earlier the ground floor was full of sculpture collection made of plaster. These antique sculptures were made in marble during the18th century by Piamontini and Cavaceppi.
The gallery also has a rich collection of paintings that spans from the 14th to the 20th centuries. The collection include works of art of all the major Continental Schools. The National Gallery of Ireland can be reached very easily by bus and taxis. The bus numbers 5, 7, 7A, 10, 13/A, 44/C and 48A from various destinations of the city plies to the gallery. Tourists visiting the National Gallery of Ireland can witness some rare pieces of art.
