The Dublin City Manager operates as the 'Chief Executive' of the Dublin City Council, which operates as the local government of Dublin city. The City Manager presides over the different departments of the the city council and his councilors.
Dublin City Manager plays an important role in the day to day affairs of the council. He is solely responsible for successfully implementing the decisions of the council. He has a team of councilors to assist him in formulating plans to make Dublin a better place to stay and make it an environment friendly city. Councilors who are elected from different parts of the city constitute the City Manager's Department. Office of Dublin City Manager and the city's executive and administrative staff are based in the civic offices located in Wood Quay.
City Manager of Dublin is also a member of various organizations like Digital Hub Development Agency, Dublin Docklands Development Authority, Dublin Chamber of Commerce, Boards of Dublin Tourism and Affordable Homes Partnership. He also presides as a chairperson of the Steering Group that monitors Regional Planning Guidelines for mid-east regions and Dublin.
